The Morpheus8 device is a handheld applicator that has 24 microneedles that penetrate the skin and deliver radiofrequency (RF) energy into the dermis. By penetrating to the deeper layers of the skin, Morpheus8 is able to heat the dermis, causing your body to generate new collagen. Does Morpheus8 RF microneedling hurt?
In order to make the procedure as painless as possible, we apply a topical anesthetic to numb the skin before the treatment. Once your skin is prepped and numb, Morpheus8 RF handpiece is applied to the treatment area, and the microneedles puncture the skin. As the RF energy penetrates the tissue, you will feel a warming sensation with some pressure and tingling. The handpiece is moved across the skin over the entire treatment area, one section at a time. After treatment, you can expect to experience some redness and swelling in the treated area, but it should resolve within 2-3 days. We recommend not wearing makeup for the first 24 hours after treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
For best results, we recommend a series of 3-4 Morpheus8 RF microneedling treatments spaced 1 month apart for best results. You will see final results several weeks after treatment as new collagen is created, lifting and tightening the skin.
