LaseMD Ultra works by stimulating collagen in your skin, resulting in a smoother, clearer, more radiant complexion. The laser energy of LaseMD creates tiny micro-channels in the skin, allowing it to penetrate the deep layers of the skin without harming the surface layer of the skin.

Like other laser skin resurfacing treatments, LaseMD Ultra works to improve your skin from within, but it requires less downtime and recovery than traditional ablative laser skin treatments.

LaseMD Ultra is safe for all skin types, including tanned skin, and can be used year-round to treat a variety of skin concerns.

During your consultation, your provider will discuss skin concerns and recommend a customized treatment plan to suit your unique needs.
A LaseMD treatment usually lasts about 20 minutes to perform. Before your LaseMD treatment, we recommend avoiding sunless tanners and sun exposure for 1-2 weeks before treatment.
On the day of your treatment, we request that you do not wear any lotion or makeup on the areas to be treated.
Before your treatment, your provider will apply a topical anesthetic or numbing cream to prep your skin. During your LaseMD Ultra treatment, your provider passes the handheld laser over your skin. You will experience a warming and tingling sensation in the deep layers of your skin.
After treatment, you can return to your normal daily activities. Immediately after treatment, your skin may feel pink or red and may feel warm and tight. This typically fades quickly. We recommend waiting 24 hours before applying makeup or vigorously exercising.
While LaseMD Ultra treatments require no downtime, your skin will require some time to heal. The top layers of skin will naturally exfoliate, and your results will start to be visible within a few days.
Day 1: Immediately after treatment, your skin will appear flushed, and your skin will feel tight, similar to having a sunburn. If needed, you may choose to apply an ice pack to ease any discomfort.
Dr. Cash recommends taking the following precautions for the first 24 hours after your LaseMD Ultra treatment:
Day 2: Your skin will still feel tight and may start to flake or feel sandy.
We recommend applying lotion to keep the treatment area moisturized.
Days 3 & 4: Depending on the depth of your treatment, your skin may continue to exfoliate as the new skin cells are revealed. As the old skin sloughs off, new, radiant skin will start to appear over the next few days.
It is important to avoid excess sun exposure while your skin heals.
Patients usually see improvements to their skin’s tone and texture within a few days after their LaseMD Ultra treatment. Over the next several months, your skin will continue to heal from within, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance as new collagen and elastin are formed.
Dr. Cash recommends at least 3 LaseMD Ultra laser skin resurfacing treatments spaced 1 month apart for optimal results. To maintain your glow, she recommends ongoing maintenance treatments every 3 to 6 months after your initial series of treatments.
