Eyelid Surgery Before & After Case 706

This 61-year-old male patient came to my office seeking to rejuvenate his under-eye area. As a jet-setter who travels often for work, maintaining his appearance is very important both personally and professionally. Despite maintaining a healthy diet, irregular exercise alongside genetic factors led to visible changes in his eye area. His issues included midface volume loss, early nasolabial fold formation, and pseudo-herniated fat pads in the lower eyelids, which are common symptoms of aging. His decision to undergo eyelid surgery in Houston was fueled by the desire to take control of these changes.

During his consultation, I recommended incorporating soft tissue fillers to restore midface volume, a crucial step before proceeding with the surgery. 4 weeks prior to surgery, I used 2 ccs of the long-lasting filler Voluma in each cheek (4 ccs total) and 3 ccs of the natural-looking filler RHA3 in each nasolabial fold (6 ccs total). He then returned for his lower blepharoplasty procedure where I employed a specialized method known as the transconjunctival approach combined with lateral laxity correction or canthoplasty, before completing a pinch blepharoplasty. This approach helps minimize visible scarring and addresses both fat protrusion and skin laxity, ensuring a more comprehensive rejuvenation of the lower eyelid area. A meticulous approach was essential, considering factors such as the patient's unique facial features, including a slow, sluggish lid snap with senile posturing of the lower lids.

Eight weeks post-operation, the results have been remarkable and in line with the patient's expectations. Despite the initial swelling, a standard part of the healing process, the patient is pleased with the elegant, natural look that complements his face.
