Eyelid Surgery Before & After Case 662

This is a 63-year-old gentleman with a history of glaucoma who presents with pseudo herniation of the fat pads of the lower eyelids and excess skin of the lower eyelids. He desired a lower blepharoplasty to address these "under-eye bags" for a more refreshed and rejuvenated appearance. 

From each eye, orbital fat was removed from 3 compartments: nasal, central, and lateral. More fat removed in all 3 compartments on the right side as compared to the left due to pre-operative assymetry. Once the fat had been removed from these compartments, a skin pinch blepharoplasty. This technique involves pinching excess lower eyelid skin with forceps, just below the eyelashes, and excising this skin with an incision camouflaged by the eyelashes. Unlike other blepharoplasty techniques, the underlying muscle and orbital septum are unaltered.
