Eyelid Surgery Case #55

This patient is a 59 year old female from the Uptown Park/Galleria area. When she visited my office she expressed concern about the heavy appearance and the hooding of her eyes. She was seeking a brighter, younger look and wanted, if possible to improve the dark circles under her eyes. After discussing her options, we decided on a combination of therapies both surgical and non surgical. First a chemical brow lift was preformed with a neurotoxin such as Botox or Dysport. Two weeks later I performed a surgical eyelid lift or blepharoplasty. Finally, six weeks after surgery the patient had laser resurfacing of her lower eyelids.

The Botox gave her a nice arch of the brows and then during the surgery, I removed the excess skin from both upper eyelids. In addition, I removed a small amount of excess fat from the inner corners of the eyes to give her a smooth contour. The Fraxel laser was used to resurface the skin of her lower eyelids giving her a softer skin texture and diminishing her dark under eye circles. The patient is shown here three months later. She is extremely pleased with her results and states that she is constantly receiving compliments from her family.
