Implant Exchange and Revision Before & After Case 698
Before and 12 weeks after
Case Details
This 57-year-old mother of two adult children in their 30s came to me for a consultation to revise the results of her previous breast procedures performed by other surgeons. During her consultation, she shared that she breastfed each child for approximately six weeks. 20 years prior to our meeting, she had undergone a breast augmentation with approximately 315-320 cc implants. 14 years after that primary breast augmentation, she underwent an implant exchange for larger 415 cc implants, along with a mastopexy (breast lift). About 10 years later, she underwent had a gastric sleeve procedure and lost 60 pounds, with her weight now stable for approximately 4 years.
This patient expressed that her breasts and areolas were larger than she desired and requested a reduction in the size of her implants along with a revision of her mastopexy. At the time of her consultation, she wore a size 36 DD/E bra and aimed to achieve a 34C-D cup size.
I performed a capsulorrhaphy to reshape and recontour the pocket for her new, smaller 275 cc implants. During the mastopexy, I removed 251 grams of tissue from her right breast and 274 grams from her left.
Twelve weeks post-op, her outcomes have exceeded her expectations. She feels more confident, comfortable, and happier with her appearance. These changes have brought her significant joy, enhancing her quality of life and self-esteem.
Witnessing such transformations is always inspiring. As a double board-certified female plastic surgeon committed to delivering exceptional care in the heart of Houston, Texas, I believe that procedures like these—implant exchange and revision—should be tailored to the individual’s goals. It is an honor and a privilege to help individuals look and feel their best.
