Breast Implant Exchange and Revision Case #100
Case Details
This 51 year old patient came to me for implant exchange surgery. She had undergone a breast augmentation with saline implants at age 28. She had since gained weight in breast tissue which resulted in her breasts becoming larger than she desired. During her first breast augmentation, she had gone from a B-cup to a D cup. She had since grown to a DDD, and desired exchanging her saline implants with smaller silicone implants to once again be a size D. During surgery, I exchanged her 300cc saline implants with a 275 cc implant on her left and a 225cc implant on her right. As we age, the quality of our skin elasticity declines and knowing this, she had concerns that her breasts would be saggy after having smaller implants put in. To avoid this, I also performed a breast lift with autoaugmentation (an enhanced mastopexy) to reshape and reposition her own natural breast tissue to her desired position and projection.
