This 23-year-old patient came to see me to discuss her unique goals for breast reduction surgery. She had recently lost 30 pounds through diet and exercise, but despite this achievement, her breast size remained larger than desired. At the time of her consultation, she wore a 34DDD bra and desired to be around a C/D cup to complement her 5'1", 189 lb frame.
To address her needs, we opted for an inferior pedicle breast reduction with Galaflex mesh. This technique not only reduced and reshaped her breasts but also provided internal support, which is gradually absorbed over 18-24 months. Galaflex mesh is ideal for patients with lax skin of the breast envelope, often due to weight changes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and more. Though she had not yet had children, she expressed interest in potentially having children in the future, so we discussed how this might impact the longevity of results and breastfeeding.
Six weeks post-op, she radiates positivity and confidence, showcasing a remarkable transformation that goes beyond aesthetics. Her proactive approach to self-improvement is truly inspiring.
