Breast Lift with Implants Case #27

This patient is a 35 year old female from Cypress, near Houston, Texas. After breast feeding three children she felt the appearance to her breast could improve through cosmetic plastic surgery. The patient had significant volume loss and laxity of the chest wall skin. We discussed various options including placing the impalnt above themuscle beacuase of the degree of ptosis that the patient had in her breast tissue versus performing a lift with implant. However, the patient did not want the scars associated with a breast lift.

During the surgery, after placing the sizers, I noticed that the patient did not have a lot of breast tissue coverage and the implant had a very round, abnormal appearance in the above muscle position. I switched the implant to the submuscular position which still provided a natural look without the breast lift. I used Mentor smooth round high-profile 450cc silicone gel implants.
