Breast Implant Exchange and Revision Case #116

Dissatisfied with the results of a breast augmentation she had undergone 17 years earlier, this patient came in to discuss her options for breast revision surgery.  Over the course of time she had developed capsular contractures, capsular distortion, and capsular pain.  The implant volume also no longer suited her preferences as she had gained weight and breast tissue volume in the years following her surgery.  Her before photo was taken 2 weeks prior to her surgery at her Pre-Op visit.  In her after photo, she is seen 5 months after her surgery which involved a capsulectomy, removal of silicone gel implants, and an “enhanced mastopexy” (breast lift) or auto-augmentation.  Embrace Scar therapy was used to minimize scarring along her incisions.
