Tummy Tuck Case #119
Before & After
Case Details
This a 33 year old patient who came to me to improve the appearance of her abdomen. As a result of pregnancy and gallbladder removal surgery, she had a very large rectus diastasis (the medical term for a condition in which the right and left halves of Rectus Abdominis muscle spread apart at the body's mid line). Because the tissue between the muscles had been excessively stretched, she found herself unable to lose her “pooch” through diet and exercise. During surgery, I removed the redundant skin and its underlying fat in her lower abdomen. The muscle layer was tightened and the remaining skin in the upper abdomen was then released, smoothed and pulled down to the patient's bikini line.
