This 57-year-old woman experienced significant changes to her breasts and body throughout her life. At 21, she briefly had saline breast implants, which became misshapen shortly after the initial surgery. Although she considered removing and replacing the implants, she ultimately decided that explant surgery was a better option than an implant exchange at that time. After the removal, she noticed sagging in her breasts due to lost volume, a situation further exacerbated by subsequent pregnancies, nursing, and most recently, a rapid 50-pound weight loss on Ozempic. This significant weight loss also resulted in loose abdominal skin. Additionally, she was concerned about scarring from three cesarean sections and laparoscopic procedures, particularly a longer lower abdominal incision on the left side, which resulted from healing complications.
To address all her concerns, I performed a Mommy Makeover. To achieve her desired breast shape and size, I performed a dual plane II dissection, releasing the breast tissue from the pectoralis muscle, allowing the implant to fill out the lower portion of the breast. I used Natrelle Inspira smooth, round, soft-touch, full profile 485cc silicone implants.
Next, I conducted liposuction, removing 800 cc of fat from the right flank, 700 cc from the left flank, and 100 cc from the central upper abdomen. I also applied Vaser energy to the mons pubis, followed by additional liposuction that removed another 50 cc.
During the abdominoplasty, I carefully addressed the significant scar tissue from her previous C-sections and laparoscopic procedures that needed to be released. I plicated the abdominal wall to create a more contoured waistline and further debulked her mons pubis. To complete the tummy tuck, I removed 673 grams (approximately 1.5 lbs) of excess abdominal tissue.
