This Is a 49-year-old female came to see me to discuss revising the results of previous liposuction performed on here lateral trunk and to discuss options to improve the appearance of contractured scar tissue following a myomectomy. She also had a secondary dermal banding in the anterior abdomen in between the Pfannenstiel incision and the umbilicus.
Using her existing incisions, as well as making an incision hidden in her naval, I performed 360 plasma-assisted radiofrequency liposuction using the Renuvion device (also referred to as J-Plasma). This technique has the added benefit of providing some skin-tightening for natural-looking contours.
A total of 2500 mL was removed from the patient's upper central and lateral abdomen. An additional 1900 mLs was obtained from the patient's lateral trunk in the supine position. An additional 700 mL of lipoaspirate was removed from the patient's lateral and posterior trunk and an additional 600 mL from the patient's left lateral trunk. A total of 5600 mL of lipoaspirate were removed. 2500 mL from the central upper and lateral abdomen, an additional 900 mL from the right lower and lateral abdomen and then an additional 1000 mL from the left lower abdominal abdomen and then on the right side an additional 700 mL of lipoaspirate were removed from the posterior lateral trunk and 500 mL of lipoaspirate from the left lateral posterior trunk.
To address her concerns with the appearance of dense, fibrotic scar tissue, this tissue and redundant skin were excised.
