Now Is the Time: Planning for Your Mommy Makeover
If you’re thinking about a mommy makeover in Houston, or have recently decided to move forward with the treatment, congratulations! It’s such an exciting decision! The mommy makeover procedure, which typically combines a tummy tuck, breast surgery, and liposuction is transformative for many women.
Recovery usually takes a few weeks of downtime, so the fall and winter seasons are the best times to receive the treatment. At that time of year you’re usually spending more time inside and the kids are in school, allowing you more time to relax and recover. With that in mind, now is the perfect time to begin planning for the treatment. Throughout the planning process, here’s a few things I recommend you do:
- Do initial research online: Visit the mommy makeover page of my website, read some of our blog posts about the procedure, and read real patient accounts of the treatment on RealSelf, an online community related to plastic and cosmetic surgery treatments.
- Discuss implant options: If you’re interested in restoring or adding volume to your breasts, you may consider a breast augmentation as part of your mommy makeover. For this treatment, your surgeon will help you choose the rightimplant for the results you desire. For a natural looking result, I usually recommend an anatomic or teardrop implant. These implants are made from silicone and mimic the shape and feel of natural breast tissue. I’ve found many of my patients prefer these implants as they come in a variety of sizes to fit your unique shape.
- Talk to a few different surgeons: It’s always important to have options, so I suggest you talk to a few different board-certified plastic surgeons. Once you’ve met with them, you’ll have an idea of the best surgeon for you. If you’d like to meet with me, request a consultation online, and we can talk more together.
- Plan for your recovery: Make sure you are able to take a few weeks of down time to relax, rest, and recover in peace. This will help ensure your results are as beautiful as possible. Depending on the combination of treatments you choose to receive, your downtime will differ, but your surgeon will give you a better idea of the time required during your consultation.
