Several nonsurgical treatments at our med spa in Houston offer excellent results yet involve very little downtime. Some of these treatments are referred to as “lunchbreak procedures” because they can easily be done during your lunch hour, and you can return to work immediately after treatment. We now offer 3 new lunchbreak procedures: InstaLift™, ALMI™, and Aerolase® LightPod Neo.
InstaLift™
The InstaLift is an exciting new treatment that uses dissolvable sutures inserted under the skin to raise the underlying tissue and provide an instant lift and more youthful appearance. Most InstaLift patients are between the ages of 35 and 55, although people age at different rates. Good candidates must have skin that has mild to moderate signs of aging, and the skin can’t be too thin or damaged.
The sutures are made of biocompatible material called poly-L-lactic acid, which helps stimulate collagen growth. Each suture has special cones tied into it that help position the skin. Once the sutures dissolve, the new collagen takes over the lifting role.
The procedure takes about 45 minutes. Patients usually have anywhere between 2 and 4 sutures inserted into either side of his or her face. It is not uncommon to experience bruising at the treatment sites, but this typically resolves within a week.
ALMI™
ALMI is an innovative procedure that uses a patient’s own tissues and cells to restore damaged tissues and volume loss. As we age, our collagen production gradually slows, so we begin to lose volume in the face and hands. Skin in these areas often becomes thin, wrinkled, and loose, even despite years of diligent skincare.
ALMI treatments involve injecting your fat cells and platelets directly into your area of concern, in a process similar to filler injections. However, since the substance being injected comes from your own body, there is no chance of allergic reaction. ALMI can be used to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, plump lips, add volume to cheeks, stimulate hair growth, and rejuvenate hands.
The injections themselves take minutes; the longest part of the treatment is processing the harvested fat cells and platelets. Results are immediate and continue to improve over time. Many patients report a healthy glow after treatment.
The downtime is the same as any injectable filler treatment—you can return to most of your normal daily activities right away. However, we suggest that you plan for treatment 3 weeks prior to any special occasion as you may experience some temporary bruising, redness, or swelling.
Aerolase® LightPod Neo
This device is the safest and gentlest cosmetic laser available. It delivers energy to the skin 30-50 times faster than other lasers, reducing any discomfort. The LightPod Neo Laser is safe for all skin types and effectively targets tissue structures without causing damage to the surrounding skin.
It is FDA-approved for an assortment of skin-related treatments, including:
